The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Supports Nutritional Meals with Participating
Non-Pricing Care Centers and Family Day Care Home Providers!
The Virginia Department of Health’s (VDH) Special Nutrition Programs’ team is excited to celebrate the
institutions participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and their efforts to combat food insecurity in the Commonwealth. Facilities approved for participation receive reimbursements for nutritious meals served to enrolled participants in their care. Care centers interested in learning more about the CACFP and seeing if they are eligible to apply for Program participation may contact VDH’s Special Nutrition Programs team

Notice of Center and Day Care Home CACFP Participation
Participating non-pricing sponsoring organizations, emergency shelters, centers and homes provide the same meals at no extra charge to all participants at their facility without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, gender identity (including gender expression and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. A list of participating institutions, including sponsoring organizations for centers and family day care home providers, can be found on the VDH CACFP Livewell page at https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/child-and-adult-care-food-program/195-2/.
Participating child and adult care centers will receive free or reduced-price reimbursements for eligible meals served based on the following income eligibility guidelines effective July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

• Children who receive TANF, FDPIR or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or who a
Head Start participant are automatically eligible for free meals. Foster children or a child who is a
member of a household receiving SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF assistance or a Head Start participant are
automatically eligible for free meals.
• Adult participants at enrolled adult care centers who are a part of SNAP or FDPIR households or are SSI
or Medicaid participants are automatically eligible for reimbursement benefits at the free rate.
• According to the Keep Kids Fed Act, family day care home providers automatically qualify to receive
tier I reimbursement rate for eligible meals served.
In accordance with federal civil rights law and USDA civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its
agencies, offices, employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA (not all bases apply to all programs). Remedies and complaint filing deadlines vary by program or incident.
Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.) should contact the state or local agency that administers the program or contact USDA through the Telecommunications Relay Service at 711 (voice and TTY). Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.
To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint
Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or
write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To
request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by:

Good Afternoon All, Just wanted to share some GREAT, AWESOME, WONDERFUL news with you……Our inspector was in today and did 2 inspections today ….. our subsidy inspection and our licensing inspection – I am VERY PROUD to report we had “0” violations on both of them. The staff here works very hard to insure that all children and their families are safe and all standards are met. When you see your child’s teacher congratulate them…they will be thrilled you know.
