Virginia Quality Program

 

Virginia Quality, formerly known as VSQI and QRIS  is a quality program scale for Virginia child care centers sponsored by the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation.

The Virginia Quality Program standards are above and beyond the minimum licensing standards required by the state and they focus on teacher / child interactions and the classroom environment.   Even a level one center has reached a higher level of recognition than the minimum standards.  We are proud to be one of a few centers in Norfolk to receive this level of Certification of Quality.

Also, there are over 86 child care centers in Norfolk and according to the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation less than 20 have joined the Virginia Quality Progam and been certified.  Colonial Day School is proud to be one of the Virginia Quality Program centers in Norfolk, Virginia.
